Render Repair in Surrey
Cutting out blown, hollow and failed render and making good to match the existing finish.
Render Repair in Surrey is work we take on regularly, and the Surrey housing stock is a big part of why.
Surrey is characterised by tile-hung and timber-framed cottages, Victorian villas and substantial modern housing, with high-specification smooth render and appearance-led refurbishment the recurring theme on the properties we survey. The area sees a moderate southern climate, which is the single biggest factor in how long any render lasts here.
Local factor. Work here skews heavily toward discretionary upgrade rather than failure repair, so finish quality and colour matching carry unusual weight.
Is render repair right for a Surrey property?
Choose repair over a full re-render when failure is localised, the bulk of the elevation is sound, and the cause can be fixed.
That decision gets made at the survey, not on the phone. We will tell you plainly if a different system would serve the building better — including when a cheaper one would.

FAQs
Render Repair in Surrey — questions
Do I need planning permission to render my house?
Usually not on a standard house, but you will if the property is listed, in a conservation area, or if rendering would significantly change its appearance. We flag it at survey.
Will you need scaffolding?
For anything above single storey, yes — it is safer and produces a better finish than working off ladders or towers. Scaffold is included and itemised in the quote.
How long before I can paint new render?
Through-coloured systems need no painting at all. Sand and cement should cure for around 28 days before masonry paint goes anywhere near it.
Do you take a deposit?
For most domestic jobs we take a deposit to cover materials and scaffold, with the balance on completion. Terms are set out clearly in the written quote.
Can you match my existing render?
Usually, yes. We colour and texture match as closely as we can, though weathered render never matches a fresh batch exactly — we will be honest about how visible a patch will be.
Can blown render be patched or does it all need replacing?
If the failure is localised and the rest is well bonded, patching is the sensible option. Once more than roughly a third of an elevation is hollow, a full re-render usually works out better value.
