Houses Rendering is a rendering-only contractor working across the United Kingdom. Render is all we do, which is why we will tell you when it is the wrong answer.
Most of the failed render we are called out to was not badly applied. It was the wrong system on the wrong wall — cement on a solid stone cottage that needed to breathe, a rigid mix on a substrate that moves, a thin-coat topcoat over a basecoat that was never specified to carry it. The application was fine. The specification was wrong before anyone picked up a trowel.
So we survey first, every time. We tap-test what is on the walls, establish what is behind it, look for the reason anything has failed, and then specify. That takes longer than quoting off a photo and it is the reason our work lasts.
How we work
We install complete manufacturer-specified systems rather than mixing a cheap basecoat under a branded topcoat — a common shortcut that voids the system warranty and leaves you with our guarantee only. Where a full system is installed you get both.
Our teams cover all four UK nations. If your job sits outside our practical reach, or if it needs a specialism we do not hold, we will say so rather than take the work and subcontract it out to whoever is free.
What we will not do
We will not cement-render a pre-1919 solid-wall property. We will not render over blown render to save a day of stripping. We will not quote without seeing the walls. And we will not tell you that you need a full re-render when a repair and a clean would do — that one costs us work, and we do it anyway.
