Specialist waterproof and salt-resistant render systems for damp-affected and below-ground walls.
Damp-proof render is a specialist system, not a stronger version of ordinary render. Where a wall has been affected by rising damp, penetrating damp or flooding, the masonry usually holds hygroscopic salts that draw moisture from the air and will destroy standard plaster from behind within months.
The correct build-up combines a salt-inhibiting layer with a waterproofing render coat and a compatible finish, applied to a specified thickness and sequence. Below ground it steps up to full tanking grade. Crucially, none of it is a substitute for fixing the cause — a failed damp-proof course, a bridged cavity, raised external ground levels or a defective gutter. We diagnose the source first, because a waterproof render over an unresolved leak simply moves the damp somewhere else in the building.
When it is the right choice. Choose a damp-proof system after flooding, alongside DPC works, on below-ground walls, and wherever salt contamination is destroying normal plaster.

Damp-Proof Render — your questions
Does damp-proof render cure rising damp?
No — it manages the consequences. The damp-proof course or the source of water has to be dealt with separately. The render then holds back residual moisture and salts while the wall dries.
How long before I can decorate?
Allow a minimum of several weeks for the wall to dry, longer after flooding. Decorating too early traps moisture and the finish fails.
Is waterproof render the same as tanking?
Related but not the same. Tanking is a higher-specification below-ground system designed to resist water under pressure; waterproof render is for above-ground damp resistance.
Can salt damage come back?
Not if the source of moisture is fixed and a salt-inhibiting system was used. Recurrence almost always means the underlying cause was never resolved.
