Lime Render in Clwyd
Breathable hydraulic and hot-mixed lime render for period, listed and solid-wall properties.
We carry out lime render across Clwyd and the surrounding Clwyd area throughout the year.
Clwyd is characterised by stone cottages, Victorian seaside terraces and postwar estates, with driving rain and salt exposure on the coastal strip the recurring theme on the properties we survey. With wet with strong exposure along the north Wales coast, specification matters more in this part of the country than a national price list suggests.
Local factor. The north wales coast takes sustained irish sea exposure, and roughcast has protected buildings here for generations for good reason.
Is lime render right for a Clwyd property?
Choose lime for any pre-1919, listed, stone, cob or solid-wall property — and wherever a conservation officer is involved.
That decision gets made at the survey, not on the phone. We will tell you plainly if a different system would serve the building better — including when a cheaper one would.

FAQs
Lime Render in Clwyd — questions
Why use lime render instead of cement on an old house?
Because solid walls manage moisture by letting it evaporate. Cement blocks that route, driving damp inward and often causing timber decay and spalled stone. Lime keeps the wall breathing.
Can lime render be painted?
Only with a compatible breathable coating — limewash, silicate mineral paint or clay paint. Standard masonry paint seals the surface and defeats the purpose.
How much does rendering cost?
It is priced by the square metre and depends on the system, the condition of the walls and access. Our guide-price tool gives an indicative range in about a minute, and the survey turns that into a fixed written quote.
Do you offer a guarantee?
Yes. Every job carries our workmanship guarantee, and where a full manufacturer-specified system is installed you also get the system warranty on top.
What time of year is best for rendering?
Spring through autumn is ideal. Render should not be applied in frost or in very hot direct sun, so winter work needs protection and settled conditions.
Can you render over existing render?
Sometimes, if the existing coat is completely sound and well-bonded. We hammer-test it first. Anything hollow has to come off, because covering failure just hides it.
